Sally Raspberry is a mama, a lover of life, an educator, a yoga teacher, a student and a dreamer. She is a recent graduate of Asheville Yoga Center’s 500 hour Master’s level yoga training; class of 2014 New World Ayurveda’s Ayurvedic Medicine Practitioner; class of 2008 Body Therapy Institute’s Spirit of Learning educator program and a 2001 graduate of Medical Arts Massage school. In addition, Sally holds certificates in Spiritual Counseling, Laughter Yoga and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction. In 2018 Sally retired from a 17 year career in therapeutic massage, but continues to uphold her certification as a CE provider for massage therapists through the NCBTMB. Revive Wellness, Sally’s YTT school brand is a 200 hour Registered Yoga School with Yoga Alliance.
Surviving and thriving after a devastating car wreck in 2004, Sally sustained a traumatic brain injury, severing her corpus callosum. After enduring a traumatic birth of her first child in 2005, Sally’s healing centered around understanding spiritual connection, as well as using breath to regulate the nervous system’s function in the body.
In 2016, by the time she met her Fiance, a Marine Combat Veteran living with PTS, Sally had developed a creativity, curiosity and vibrance to explore deeply profound ways of healing and growing through movement, laughter, breath and meditation. Once a month Sally volunteers at the VA Hospital in Durham, teaching Meditation and Mindfulness to wheelchair-bound Vets and Exalted Warrior Yoga to Ambulatory Veterans in the mental health ward. Sally can also be found teaching children the art of Zen and tea parties at Little Gurus Yoga in Raleigh on Tuesday mornings and leading Yoga Teacher Trainings at Raleigh Yoga Center every other Sunday 12 months per year.
Sally and her Partner bring distinguished balance to each other’s lives and are living happily ever after with their blended family of 5 children and 4 cats in downtown Raleigh. They are working toward the dream of having goats, chickens, bees and an axe throwing range in their backyard.
Twice each year Sally travels to teach Yoga, Meditation and Ayurveda retreats in the NC mountains and coast. By 2022 Sally’s dream is to offer YTT and retreats in Sedona AZ, Iceland, Scotland, Alaska and Costa Rica.
The most recent addition to Sally’s journey is her application to graduate school to earn her Master’s in Acupuncture from Jung Tao School of Classical Chinese Medicine. If admitted, she will begin studying this 4 year program in August of 2019, graduating to practice Acupuncture in July of 2023.
Sally’s daughters inspire her to do her best in all aspects of life. Truly, they are her greatest teachers. She is overflowing with gratitude and pure joy to be a mama to these astounding, exquisite human Beings.
